Draught-proofing and refurbishment:
We say NO to replacement unless it is really necessary or your windows and frames are beyond repair. This service is very cost effective and eliminates the common problems without compromising on existing style
We carefully dismantle your window by removing staff and parting beads. The weights ,top and bottom sashes are removed from the frame and set aside. We dispose of old sash cords , ironmongery and other fittings. At this stage we remove the build-up of paint on the frame and sashes to ensure smooth sliding action. All the pulley wheels are serviced and any broken ones are replaced.
We check for any signs of rot,any rotten wood will be cut out and spliced in with a new timber and then will be epoxy resin filled. Missing putty will be replaced and weak sash joints will be glued and screwed. After weighing the sashes and adding any extra weights as necessary the top sash will be planed in and put back in the frame along with new sash cords and parting beads incorporating brush pile weather system. The bottom sash is ready to be planed or packed as required and fitted in the box frame. Now the new staff bead with brush pile weather system can be nailed in. Your window is then fully decorated, painted, the glass is cleaned and new ironmongery fitted in your choice of finish.
After all the work has been completed we leave your windows looking and operating just like new bringing them back to their former glory. You will notice outside noise reduction and you will never lose any heat again.
This service can be applied to other timber windows and doors.
